for 65 years Jewel Charity has provided over $71 million in support of Cook Children's,
touching the lives of countless children and their families.

become an angel

The cost increase of quality medical care, especially for extended illnesses, has given Jewel Charity’s fundraising efforts an even greater significance as Cook Children’s uncompensated care costs continue to escalate. Though the needs have changed during our 65 years, the heart of Jewel Charity remains devoted to the patients at Cook Children’s regardless of their families’ ability to pay.

Signature projects

The Signature Projects for this year are The Center for Vulnerable Children and CARPE. The purpose of the Center for Vulnerable Children at Cook Children’s is to improve the access to health care for abused and at-risk children; especially those in foster care. The CARPE (Art Therapy)program provides patients and their families with an outlet to express themselves and allows them to better cope with anxiety, fears, their illnesses and the hospital environment.
